Kings XI Punjab
They’re energetic, fiery yet very realistic in their strategies considering they know that their opposition is tough. The Kings XI team, ruled by the Star and the Page of Pentacles, are being relaxed and are surprisingly going to play without any inhibitions, or expectations of themselves. They would play to enjoy the game – to do the best and push themselves to do even better. They will happily enjoy implementing their plans. They will feed off the success of this attitude.
Adam Gilchrist will lead the team’s attitude. He will show his hard work, resilience and stability in his game as a player and captain. His plans will be direct and uncluttered; he will know exactly what he wants and will get it out of his players by leading through example.
Key players
Paul Valthathy will reflect the spirit of the team. Relaxed, yet strong and united for the team’s cause.
Abhishek Nayar may not ease into his role comfortably today. He will be faced with challenges.
Mandeep Singh will receive opportunities to shine and show his determination, but may not find it easy to rise up to those moments.
Praveen Kumar, beautifully represented by the Ace of Cups, Hermit and the Queen of Pentacles, will show that he is strong, wise, stable and has the hunger to win. He will do all that is possible to see his team do well.
David Hussey can feel the pressures of responsibility and his cards are looking a little tired too. He may just show this one bout of energy and try to charge ahead to fight the feeling he is carrying.
Shaun Marsh, if played, will be enthusiastic, energetic and hardworking. He will show his potential as a player.
Pune Warriors India
Pune Warriors have some basic plans in mind. They haven’t gone over board with a strategy on dealing with thePunjab team. Instead, they have a lot of silent confidence to fight, show authority and win it over. As the Deathcard shows, they should be able to change an uncomfortable situation in their favour. The negative here is that they may, at times, be over aggressive. That may just go against them. They have all the possibilities to stamp their authority on Punjab, but they will need to be better directed if they wish to see that materialise.
Sourav Ganguly may just be a little wayward in his captaincy. He will need to slow himself down mentally, take a deep breath, see what the situation is like and then react. Impulsive decisions may not be the best thing for the team. As a batsman, Ganguly will open up to his hidden potential and play authoritatively.
Key players
Ashok Dinda will play like a fighter – strong and bull headed. The Four of Cups suggests that he will be presented with some important opportunities and will most likely be able to grab onto.
Murali Karthik will come with some of his own, independent plans, but they may not work for long. A few hits, but more misses.
Rahul Sharma won’t initially have the best start to his spell, but this should change quickly and would provide a balance to the bowling.
Robin Uthappa may just end up being too carefree. He needs to be careful of being too complacent.
Steve Smith is hardworking and hungry to succeed. The desire of success is what will drive him to do well in this game.
Who has the advantage?
I feel that Kings XI Punjab hold an upper hand, because their leader, Gilchrist is showing a better direction to succeed.
