Steve Bucknor was a well-known and among the most widely admired cricket umpires, who officiated in 128 Test matches, which is the highest by any umpire. He also officiated in 181 One Day Internationals. The long wait, a measured nod before raising the index finger with the decision, got him the “Slow Death Bucknor” title. In March 2005, he became the first umpire to stand in 100 Tests. He retired in March 2009.
