There has been lot of discussions over cricket to be included in Olympics or not but there seems to be some good sign on this issue. It is expected that if Rome wins the bid to host Olympics in 2024 then cricket may be included. As reported by ESPNCricinfo, President of Federazione Cricket Italiana (FCI) has made the statement on the inclusion of cricket in 2024 Olympics. "If Rome hosts the Olympics, cricket will be included. We have had a firm commitment from the organising committee,” said Simone Gambino — President of FCI. There might be an issue over the availability of turf pitches but there will plenty of times to overcome. The debate over the teams participation is still on as maximum 16 teams will be invited to take part though the possibility is of 12 as per the Olympics regulations. Those 12 teams may include three from Europe, three from Asia, two from Africa, three from America and Caribbean and rest from South Pacific Zone. There will be another issue and that will be over England as they are part of Olympics as United Kingdom, which consists multiple nations — Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and of course England.
