Chris Gayle has now decided to sue Fairfax Media after the leading media house made defamatory allegations against him.

The media group had published an explosive report against the West Indian cricketer that he had allegedly exposed himself to a woman while in Sydney during the 2015 Cricket World Cup. The woman, who was working with the players, had claimed Gayle partially exposed his genitals and asked “Are you looking for this?” when she found him alone in the dressing room. After Gayle’s BBL interview, Stuart Binny is a now a worried man.

A furious Gayle has apparently retained media lawyer Mark O’Brien and would “immediately commence defamation proceedings against Fairfax Media”. The allegations, first published on Wednesday, have reportedly damaged the chances of Gayle playing in the Big Bash League (BBL). He was earlier fined $10,000 by Melbourne Renegades for the comments he made to McLaughlin. Gayle’s “pockets are empty” after A$ 10,000 fine but he continues to impress on Instagram.
