The most awaited and epic encounter between the legends of cricket proved to be a great success on Saturday at Citi Field. The venue of New York City was filled with stars and one can imagine the amount of support the game would have witnessed when such legends come together under one roof.
Winning the toss, Warriors captain, Shane Warne invited Blasters to bat first. Blaster’s openers Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag took off the innings pretty well. The duo did not waste any time in scoring runs and put up a healthy partnership of 85 runs in just eight overs. Just after Tendulkar’s dismissal, Sehwag too went back to pavilion after scoring a blistering half-century off just 22 deliveries.Their batting order collapsed but somehow they managed a respectable total of 140.
In reply, Blasters started their bowling attack with one of the greatest fast bowler of all time, Shoaib Akhtar. He charged in and bowled at a menacing pace even after years of his retirement. Akhtar got the better of Matthew Hayden and soon Jacques Kallis too followed. Ricky Ponting and Kumar Sangakkara played some brilliant strokes and kept the score going at a good rate. The duo added 80 runs between them and ensured that victory was on the cards. In between Sangakkara got out followed by Andrew Symonds’ wicket but Ponting and Jonty Rhodes carried the team over the line and won the match by six wickets with 16 balls to spare.
No doubt about the fact that the match was full of excitement and evenly poised with some great cricketing moments. We present you with the best tweets from the match.

The only thing that has not changed, or will never change, is Hooper’s run-up. #AllStarsCricket — Abhishek Mukherjee (@ovshake42) November 7, 2015
I mean, Curtly retired a couple of months AFTER Sangakkara’s debut. Not a lot of difference, though. #AllStarsCricket
