Bhuvneshwar Kumar has gone through enough highs and lows in his career. Right from a spectacular debut to becoming Team India’s pace spearhead to witnessing lows when he was dropped from the playing XI, Bhuvi has seen it all. So it was not a surprise when he bounced back in style when he finished as the leading bowler in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season nine. A ticket to the plane for Caribbean soon followed but he had to bide his time as Umesh Yadav was preferred over him for the first two Tests. But when the team management decided to field him in place of a scratchy Umesh for the third Test, Bhuvneshwar repaid the faith by taking a fantastic fifer on his Test return.
Bhuvi swung the match back into India’s favour by playing major role in dismissing West Indies for 225, thus ensuring a healthy 128-run lead for India. His scalps included the likes of last match heroes Jermaine Blackwood, Shane Dowrich, tailenders Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph and the experienced Marlon Samuels, whom he cleaned up with a peach of a delivery. At stumps on Day four, India were 3 for 157, with an overall lead of 285.
The Twitter universe heaped praises on the cricketer from Uttar Pradesh, and here we bring to you some of those tweets:
