The Bengaluru Test between India and Australia was one of the most intense contests in the recent times. Australia dominated the game for good three days before India staged a famous comeback to level the series 1-1. The Test had many memorable moments and one of the talking points was Ishant Sharma’s theatrics where Australian skipper Steven Smith also joined in and his Indian counterpart Virat Kohli was left in splits. Ishant was in midst of a good spell and was looking to rile up Smith. There was an exchange of words but ultimately the entire incident took a funny turn thanks to Ishant’s ploy of unsettling the Australian captain by making weird faces.
The commentary panel consisting of renowned Indian and Australian cricketers like Brett Lee, Matthew Hayden, Sanjay Manjrekar and others took up the Ishant Sharma Game Face challenge by mimicking the Indian pacer’s face. Even presenters Mayanti Langer and Jatin Sapru tried their hand in it. Laxman Sivaramakrishnan’s expressions are not for weak hearted though.

India eventually won the Test by 75 runs and a larger controversy involving the two captains Smith and Kohli took the centre stage. In a controversy that is termed as the ‘DRS-gate’ or ‘cheat-gate’, Smith in the second innings sought help from the dressing room to consult whether or not to go for a review after he was adjudged leg before by Umesh Yadav. Umpire Nigel Llong had to intervene as the games rules does not allow a player to do the same. Kohli too sprang into action and gave Smith a send off. Later, the Indian skipper accused the Australian team of using unfair means when it came to the Decision Review System (DRS).
