If things go as per the plan, India will host its first-ever day-night Test later this year and the venue will be Eden Gardens. Eden Gardens is set to host the country’s first pink-ball cricket match and this weekend i.e. from June 18 to 21, the final of the Super League, a local tournament in West Bengal that is played for Ranji Trophy team selection, will be played under lights and yes with the pink Kookaburra ball. Former Indian skipper Ganguly considers Eden as his “home” and the stadium is called the “Mecca of Indian cricket”. Over the years, the ground has seen many iconic moments like India’s first hat-trick in Test cricket, VVS Laxman‘s  281, Rohit Sharma‘s 264 and many more. It has also hosted two World Cup finals.

Indian left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha, who shifted state team to Bengal, from Hyderabad, last year on Ganguly’s insistence, also congratulated the CAB President.
