When Lara helped Ganguly beat Tendulkar on a different pitch!

Sourav Ganguly who is also the co-owner of Atletico de Kolkata (ATK) faced his former colleague Sachin Tendulkar's franchise Kerala Blasters at the former's den in front of the legendary Pele on Tuesday.

Former skipper of Indian cricket team Sourav Ganguly who is also the co-owner of Atletico de Kolkata (ATK) faced his former colleague Sachin Tendulkar’s franchise Kerala Blasters at the former’s den in front of the legendary Pele on Tuesday.

Arata Izumi drew first blood and gave ATK the early lead and ever since he joined the team he has shown value for money.  ATK got their noses ahead within the first 10 minutes, on the sixth minute to be precise.

But the star of the show was the villain of the opener, Javier Lara, the player who squandered a penalty but was the hero at the Salt Lake Stadium by scoring the winner in the 53rd minute of the match. The man who thrives in dead-ball situations was also adjudicated as the Man Of the Match.

With this win which is now a battle between Tendulkar and Ganguly, thanks to the media, ATK has moved top of the tree, living up to their billing as the defending champions. ATK now have seven points from three matches. The irony of the match was the fact that it was a certainLara who helped Ganguly beat Tendulkar on a different pitch.
