The second season of Indian Super League (ISL) concluded on Sunday amidst much fanfare. After an intense 11-week tournament, the Chennaiyian FC emerged as the winners by trumping FC Goa. The result meant that Indian limited-overs skipper MS Dhoni emerged victorious while Test skipper Virat Kohli ended up on the losing side.
For those who are not aware, Dhoni is the co-owner of Chennaiyian FC while Kohli co-owns the FC Goa team. Both are football enthusiasts and have invested in the sport with the view of promoting it. Though Dhoni wasn’t present at the venue for the final, he was represented by Abhishek Bachchan, who is also the co-owner of the team from the south. He however did send his wishes after the game through his tweet which read:
Congrats @VitameswaniDani @juniorbachchan @iomatrix23 and all the support staff.dedication and hard work paid off

On the other hand, Kohli was pretty much involved in the proceedings. He was present at the venue along with his ladylove Anushka Sharma and team’s brand ambassador Varun Dhawan — both Bollywood actors. Kohli cheered for the team during the entire match and displayed his sportsman spirit by graciously accepting the defeat and congratulating the winning side through his tweet.
Great game, gutted for @FCGoaOfficial and happy for @ChennaiyinFC. Great season of Football overall. #ISL2015Final
