In what may be a great discovery as far as history of cricket is concerned, a tape of KS Ranjitsinhji and CB Fry playing cricket has been restored. Donated by cricket historian Glenn Gibson to the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA), the Kinora reel involves 465 frames running through a span of 19 seconds and ages back to 1901. Reported mygc.com.au, this will be first such animated footage of the illustrious Sussex legends — also inseparable friends at that time — playing cricket. It has been developed to a movie. Kinora are among the oldest photography devices with a rotating crank handle to record the action for later viewing. NFSA developed a new machine to photograph each frame of the reel and converting it to a movie.
