14-year-old scores unbeaten 556 in two-day fixture

Playing for the Mohinder Lala Amarnath Cricket Academy, 14-year-old Priyanshu Moliya scored an unbeaten 556 runs against in a two-day fixture at the Vadodara Cricket Academy (VCA) ground in the Shri DK Gaekwad Under-14 tournament.

Playing for the Mohinder Lala Amarnath Cricket Academy, 14-year-old Priyanshu Moliya scored an unbeaten 556 runs against in a two-day fixture at the Vadodara Cricket Academy (VCA) ground in the Shri DK Gaekwad Under-14 tournament.

Priyanshu, originally from Rajkot, shifted base to Baroda on former India allrounder Mohinder Amarnath’s advice . He had earlier taken four wickets on day one helping his team Bundle out the opposition for just 52 runs.

On the same day Priyanshu scored 408 runs and went on to add 148 more to end with monumental 556 off 319 balls with the help of 98 boundaries and one six. His team scored a gargauntum  826 for four.

The opposition were bowled out for 84 in their second dig. Thus conceding the match by 689 runs. Priyanshu claiming two wickets in the second innings.

After the match, Priyanshu revealed that scoring big is quite normal for him and he had set himself goals during the marathon knock.

“My previous highest was 254 in the same tournament last year. I was just playing my normal game as the bowling attack was good. It was a satisfying innings, but yes, I was beaten on four to five occasions. “After my first hundred on Monday, I told myself that I need to score 200. I set goals of 100 runs each and was determined to continue playing the same way,” Priyanshu told mid-day.
