Adam Gilchrist inducted into ICC Hall of Fame

Adam Gilchrist, the former Australian wicket-keeper batsman has been inducted into the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Hall of Fame on Friday.

Adam Gilchrist, the former Australian wicket-keeper batsman has been inducted into the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Hall of Fame on Friday. Gilchrist was presented his cap during the tea break of the third Ashes 2013-14 Test at Perth.

 

Gilchrist becomes the 71st inductee into the galaxy of greats. A few days ago, Waqar Younis, the former Pakistan fast bowler was also included and the presentation took place during the T20 match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at Dubai.

In 96 Tests for Australia, Gilchrist scored 5570 runs at an average of 47.60 with 17 tons. He took 379 catches and effected 37 stumpings. In 287 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), he scored 9619 runs at an average of 35.89 with 16 tons and at a strike-rate of 96.94. He took 417 catches and effected 55 stumpings in the format.
