Adam Voges has played his final match of Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Perth Scorchers. Their loss in the semi-finals against Hobart Hurricanes at Optus Stadium was his last. Voges last year had an one-year extension with the franchise, while announcing retirement from domestic cricket altogether.
Speaking about his BBL career, Voges said; “It’s a disappointing way to end, but I’ve had so many good memories. It would have been nice to finish on a better note, but you don’t always get to write your own script. To be able to play in three premiership-winning teams, and to make finals every year is a terrific effort in itself.”
Voges led Scorchers to two-BBL championships, out of the three reins. Scorchers were set an imposing target of 211 runs to reach the final, but were bundled out for merely 139. Votes featured in 54 BBL matches for Scorchers making 1,040 runs at a strike-rate of 123.96. He has also take 3 wickets with a best of 1 for 12.
Despite good numbers, he was awarded man of the match just once.
