Adelaide: Jul 20, 2012

South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) chief executive Keith Bradshaw has guaranteed that the Adelaide Oval will host international cricket on Australia Day from 2014.

The schedule for the Australian summer was released on Thursday. As per the schedule, Adelaide will only host two international matches – a Test against South Africa starting on November 22 and a one-day contest against Sri Lanka on January 13.

As Adelaide Oval undergoes major redevelopment, the traditional Australia Day match will be held in Sydney this year. SACA is getting an agreement from cricket Australia ensuring the fixture returns to Adelaide from 2014.

“I’m comfortable that we`ve lent that match to Sydney, but just for this season. It`s a position that has enabled us to negotiate the future of international matches here at Adelaide Oval on Australia Day,” Bradshaw was quoted as saying by Zee News.
