The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) made a significant move and disciplined three members of their national squad for postponing their national contracts. The three players in question, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fazal Haq Farooqi, and Naveen Ul Haq Mureed, have contracts that are delayed, and their No Objection Certificates (NOCs) have been withheld for the next two years.

The three players announced their desire to be released from their central contracts in order to focus on franchise cricket, which led to the board’s major decision. The ACB argued that players were failing in their national duty when they chose franchised leagues above their country. In addition, the ACB opened a thorough inquiry to deal with the problem.

“The three players formally communicated their decision to the ACB, expressing their desire to release themselves from the annual central contract, starting from January 1, 2024, as well as requested to consider their consent for their participation in national events,” a committee member was quoted as saying by amu.tv.
