The off-spinner was absent in the last disciplinary committee meeting. In that meeting life ban was handed over to fellow Rajasthan players S Sreesanth and Ankeet Chavan. Siddharth Trivedi has been suspended for one year, while Amit Singh has been suspended for five years.
The trio — Sreesanth, Chavan and Chandila were arrested on May 16 and were charged under IPC section 420 and 120B, dealing with fraud, cheating and criminal conspiracy.
As a result the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) came up with ‘Operation Clean-up’, which planned out measures to stop corruption in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
