In the ongoing second Twenty20 International (T20I) between India and England at Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium in Nagpur, leg-spinner Amit Mishra reached to a special milestone in his career. With the wicket of Eoin Morgan in the 11th over of the match, Mishra became the second Indian bowler to take 200 wickets in T20s after Ravichandran Ashwin, who has exactly same number of wickets. Earlier, England won the toss and invited India to bat, who posted the total of 144 for 8 from their 20 overs. KL Rahul’s 47-ball 71 and Chris Jordan’s spell of 3 for 22 were the highlights of the first half.
The all time leading wicket-taker in T20s is Dwayne Bravo, who has 367 wickets under his belt. Ashwin and Mishra stand at joint-17th position on the list. Mishra began his T20 career in 2007 during an inter-state T20 tournament match for Haryana against Punjab. After that, he went on to play for Delhi Daredevils (DD) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) from 2008 to 2010. Mishra made his India debut in this format of the game in 2010 but emerged as the crucial member of the side in ICC World T20 2014, where he scalped 10 wickets at 14.7.

After that tournament, Mishra did not get to play for India in T20Is before this game. This is his 9th T20I game and he has taken 15 wickets so far. Apart from India, Haryana and DD, Mishra has also played for Deccan Chargers (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL. Moreover, Mishra is the first player to take three hat-tricks in IPL history. His first one came for DD against DC in 2008, followed by the second one against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) for DC in 2011 and his last in 2013 for SRH against Pune Warriors India (PWI)
