Bangladesh, sent in to bat by Sri Lanka, were at 72 for four at lunch on the opening day of the first Test at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka on Monday.
Shakib Al Hasan was unbeaten on 15 and captain Mushfiqur Rahim was on eight after four wickets had fallen for 59 runs. Seamer Shaminda Eranga had claimed two wickets.
Tamim Iqbal was the first wicket to fall for six as he handed Eranga his first wicket. Debutant Shamsur Rahman looked is positive mood as he struck 33 off 34 deliveries. His innings consisted seven fours.
Marshall Ayub did not last long as he was dismissed by Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews for one. Eranga dismissed Rahman as Bangladesh were at 40 for three.
Mominul Haque was dismissed by Suranga Lakmal for eight as Bangladesh had lost their fourth wicket for only 59 runs.
