Brisbane Heat lost seven wickets in their last 30 balls, for only 32 runs, which pretty much tells the tale of their panic attack. Trinidad and Tobago were clearly the second favourites when the match started, more so after the first innings. But their bowlers performed brilliantly to defend a very modest total.
BH 110 | Overs 20 | Roach 3* OUT! 91/6 (Burns 45 | 15.6 overs) 101/7 (Sabburg 3 | 17.3 overs) 107/8 (Cutting 17 | 17.6 overs) 107/9 (Hauritz 0 | 18.1 overs) 110 (McDermott 0 | 18.4 overs)
Joe Burns’s impressive innings comes to an end after completely missing an attempted slog goes awry and Ravi Rampaul’s delivery BREAKS the leg stump. T&T are all pumped up. Chris Sabburg then tries to cart Rayad Emrit over long-off, but can only find the safe and waiting hands of Darren Bravo. Ben Cutting responds by showing how it’s done, carting the bowler straight down the ground for six off the very next ball. Chaos follows as Nathan Hauritz and Cutting miscommunicate a run and the latter is run-out. In the next over, the 19th, Hauritz goes for broke and tries to lob Rampaul over long-on, but can find only Simmons. Rampaul finishes it off by bowling McDermott in the same over.
BH 85/5 | Overs 15 | Burns 44*, Cutting 0* OUT! 76/3 (Christian 13 | 13.2 overs) 81/4 (Lynn 4 | 14.1 overs) 85/5 (Hartley 3 | 14.5 overs)
Joe Burns gets things moving with sixes off the bowling of Sherwin Ganga and Sunil Narine, and almost gets a third but for some brilliant fielding and acrobatics by Lendl Simmons at the rope. Simmons leaped up in the air to stop the ball from going over the rope, and just managed to flick the ball back into play, saving his team four runs. Emrit then traps Dan Christian in front to give his team more hope. Narine then gets the faint edge off Chris Lynn’s bat which is snapped up by Ramdin behind the stumps. Narine isn’t done as he gets Chris Hartley to drag on to his stumps to get T&T’s fifth wicket. Lots of heart in the way T&T are defending their modest total.
BH 48/2 | Overs 10 | Burns 19*, Christian 7*
Brisbane amble along towards their target. The required run rate is now almost nine an over. Brisbane will have to change gears soon enough.
BH 31/2 | Overs 7.5 | Burns 7*, Christian 0* OUT! 31/2 (Forrest 16 | 7.5 overs)
Samuel Badree gets the wicket of Peter Forrest after the Australian pulls a short and wide delivery straight to Sherwin Ganga at deep midwicket. We have a few minutes of delay after a light tower goes off at Ranchi.
BH 17/1 | Overs 5 | Burns 7*, Forrest 6* OUT! 10/1 (Hopes 4 | 2.3 overs)
After a quiet first two overs, quite similar to T&T’s innings, the first breakthrough comes in the third over when Brisbane captain James Hopes unfortunately ends up playing on to his stumps off Ravi Rampaul’s bowling. Brisbane manage only runs in the first five overs, but they can afford to do that given the low required rate.
Hey Ravi Rampaul, I really like your thick gold chain, goatee, extra long sideburns and hair flick Sincerely 1996. #clt20

Brisbane will be confident in chasing this modest total down. Join us in a bit for the chase.
T&T 135/9 | Overs 20 | Badree 15*, Rampual 4* OUT! 114/7 (Narine 8 | 17.3 overs), 115/8 (Emrit 0 | 17.5 overs, 116/9 Ramdin 48 | 18.2 overs)
Alister McDermott returns to take two more wickets in the 18th over of the innings. First, Sunil Narine holes out to Sabburg at deep square leg off a short ball, before another similar delivery gets the leading edge of Rayad Emrit to be pouched by keeper Hartley. Ben Cutting then finally dismisses the T&T skipper Ramdin slashed the bowler hard, but mistimed it straight to sweeper cover. Samuel Badree hit a couple of sixes in the final over to take T&T past 130.
T&T 97/6 | Overs 15 | Ramdin 37*, Narine 1* OUT! 71/4 (Mohammed 10 | 10.1 overs), 71/5 (Ganga 0 | 10.2 overs, 83/6 Pooran 8 | 13.6 overs)
Nathan Hauritz took two in two to peg T&T back after a good spell of five overs for the batting side. The spinner dismisses Jason Mohammed and Sherwin Ganga on consecutive deliveries to negate T&T’s advantage. Daniel Christian then gets the wicket of 17-year-old Nicolas Pooran, the youngest player to play the CLT20, in the 15th over. Ramdin is falling short of partners here. The T&T tail is quite long. Ramdin responds by slashing Ben Cutting for four before launching him over wide long-on for a maximum. Fantastic batting!
At 17 yrs 355 days Nicolas Pooran is the youngest to play in #CLT20, taking the record from NSW’s Pat Cummins (18 yrs 139 days). #TnT #BRI

T&T 71/3 | Overs 10 | Mohammed 10*, Ramdin 22*
Skipper Denesh Ramdin and Jason Mohammed have done well to steady the T&T innings after the early wobble. Ramdin is looking extremely confident and has hit Nathan Hauritz for a powerful six over long-on. He isn’t afraid to take the attack to the Brisbane bowlers, while Mohammed is preserving his wicket.
T&T 38/3 | Overs 5 | Mohammed 0*, Ramdin 0* OUT! 28/1 (Simmons 14 | 2.6 overs), 37/2 (Bravo 0 | 3.6 overs), 38/3 (Lewis 19 | 4.4 overs)
After a quiet first couple of overs, Lendl Simmons gives Alister McDermott the charge in the third over, hitting the medium pacer for three consecutive boundaries, before dragging the ball back onto the stumps. Left-hander Evin Lewis then hits Kemar Roach for a couple more boundaries in the following over, before a brilliant bouncer got Darren Bravo fending his skull. The ball clips the handle and loops up in the air for an easy catch for the keeper. In the fifth over, bowled by Alister McDermott, Lewis goes in an almost similar manner after he top-edges the bowler to midwicket.
Great stuff by @AMcDermott91 to get 2 wkts after conceding 14 in his 1st over. He was the 2nd highest wicket-taker for #BRI in BBL. #CLT20
