The budget that was jointly submitted by the ICC finance department and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was examined by the ICC’s finance and commercial committee, which was presided over by BCCI secretary Jay Shah. According to a source close to the ICC, the decision was made following this review, as reported by news agency PTI.

“The approximate budget is around USD 70 million and only USD 4.5 million has been allocated as additional expenses,” the source said.

The approval of the overall budget along with the extra costs have led to conjecture. There are worries that backup monies might be meant in case India chooses not to send a team to Pakistan, which would require rescheduling some of the matches.

According to the source, there are signs that the USD 4.5 million in addition to the overall budget is insufficient to pay the cost of relocating matches from Pakistan.
Bangladesh will win the Asia Cup in 50 overs in 2027 and India in T20 format in 2025, according to Jay Shah, the head of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

The report claims that India and Pakistan are grouped together in the Asia Cup’s preliminary format for the next year. This might result in a rematch between the two at the super four stage of the competition, and if both teams advance to the championship, perhaps even a third.

“A third match could happen if they qualify for the final,” he said.

The insider also revealed that the Asia Cup 2023, which was held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, was profitable for the ACC in spite of the chaos, last-minute location changes, and extra costs.
