Persistent rain at Ahmedabad has resulted in the second Group A match of the Champions League T20 (CLT20) 2013 scheduled for Monday between Mumbai Indians and Otago Volts to be called off as well, after the first match between Highveld Lions and Perth Scorchers was also abandoned earlier without a ball being bowled. All four teams will get two points.
Earlier, the match between Lions and Scorchers, scheduled for a 4pm start at the Sardar Patel Stadium, was called off at 5.10pm due to heavy rain and a wet outfield.
Lions skipper Alviro Petersen put his team in to bowl in overcast conditions. However, as soon as the toss was over, the rain came pouring down.
