The New South Wales born and left-handed opening batsman, Craig Simmons played power packed shots to essay a quickfire knock of 102 off  a mere 41 balls for Perth Scorchers against Adelaide Strikers at Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) ground in the Big Bash League. The opposition had some fine bowlers in South African discard and off-spinner Johan Botha, Shaun Tait and Kane Richardson.

He shared an enterprising century stand with Sam Whiteman in which Simmons did bulk of the scoring. The 31-year old, smashed eight fours and eight sixes in his innings. He has had a chequered career in domestic cricket, having played only a few games. But this hundred would help him to come into the spotlight.
