READ: Lara, Sarwan to work with West Indies batsmen
In order to better prepare their batsmen against India, two former captains Brian Lara and Ramnaresh Sarwan have been roped in by the Cricket West Indies to work with the team ahead of the series.
Jimmy Adams, ex-West Indies skipper and now the Director of Cricket at CWI, was grateful to his former teammates for coming on board to guide the young West Indies batsmen.
“We have some good young batsman in the team who we believe will form the future of West Indies cricket. We saw some very good signs of development earlier this year in the Test matches when we played so very well to beat England and we want to see them grow and become outstanding players for the West Indies,” Adams said in a CWI media release.
The first Test will be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound while the second starts from August 30 in Sabina Park, Kingston.
India have been unbeaten so far on their Caribbean tour having blanked the hosts 3-0 in a three-match series before also pocketing the following three-match ODI series 2-0 with the opening game being washed out due to rain.
