Stephen Parry had a dream start to his career, finishing with figures of three for 32.   On a slow wicket, Stuart Broad once again decided to open with Joe Root’s off-spin and it paid rich dividends this time around. The wasteful nature of the visitors’ performance in the first ODI was rectified and debutant Parry was on target, ably supported by all the English bowlers, particularly the slower bowlers.   Earlier in the day, Stuart Broad won the toss and decided to field on a slow wicket that was tailor-made for the spinners. Broad went with three front-line spinners and West Indies went unchanged from fantastic victory in the earlier fixture.   Root was fantastic early in the innings dismissing the dangerous Dwayne Smith and Kirk Edwards. West Indies huffed and puffed all the way through except the mercurial Lendl Simmons, who brought up his second consecutive half-century. Simmons was calculative and attacked the bowlers right through his innings.   Apart from Simmons, there were no contributions of note except Dwayne Bravo’s 20 and it was Parry’s show towards the end, ending Simmons’s innings with some smart bowling, tempting the batsman to go for the expansive heave.   James Treadwell was consistent as always and chipped in with two wickets. The pacers had very little work to do but both Broad and Tim Bresnan were tidy to clean up West Indies for a paltry 159.   Brief scores:   West Indies 159 in 44.2 overs (Kieran Powell 16, Lendl Simmons 70, Dwayne Bravo 20; Stephen Parry 3 for 32, James Tredwell 2 for 39) vs England   Scorecard
