ENG vs SA 4th Test: Jennings eager to repay management's faith

Keaton Jennings has not been in the best of forms of late. However, the England team management have placed faith on him. As result, Jennings is eager to repay them back for retaining him ahead of the final Test versus South Africa. By virtue of a 239-run victory, England have taken an unassailable 2-1 lead in the four-match series and have claimed the Basil D’Oliveira Trophy. England could have axed Jennings, owing to his poor form, but have decided otherwise. Jennings, who scored scratchy 48 in his last innings, will need to buckle up if he wants to partner Alastair Cook for the upcoming home series against West Indies. The left-hander has failed to get going post his successful debut against India, when he scored 112. He, however, claims to have learned a lot about his game and wants to give a good start to the team in the fourth Test; starting from August 4 at Old Trafford.
“I have had a couple of good chats with the guys over the last couple of days, and regardless of what happens I have learned a whole heap about myself and the whole stage of Test cricket. Cooky has been awesome with me. He has added a lot of value to me. Hopefully, we can get stuck in and build a stand”, Jennings was quoted by Telegraph.
The task won’t be easy for Jennings at Old Trafford. A now-fit Vernon Philander, who has caused enough troubles to Jennings, will be back to pose problems. Jennings has time and again edged the balls outside off. He will have to be wary of Philander and Morne Morkel.
