After thrashing Pakistan Women team in the One-Day International (ODIs), England Women have also won the Twenty20 International (T20I) by winning the second T20I by 35 runs. Posting a modest total of 138 for 8 in their quota of 20 overs, England women broke the back bone of Pakistan women’s batting line-up as they took wickets at regular intervals to dent their chances and clinch the T20I series as well. England lead the series 2-0 with one game to go. Fran Wilson was adjudged Man of the Match for her gritty 43 not out with the bat which took her side to a total which their bowlers could defend. Pakistan Women continued their shabby show with the bat as has been the case with them in the entire tour. After being whitewashed in the ODIs, Pakistan Women were expected to comeback hard against the hosts in the shortest format of the game but the result remained the same for them. Losing the first game by a whopping margin of 68 runs, Pakistan bowlers bowled well as they got wickets at reguaklr intervals but did the same when they came out to chase the target. Javeria Khan, Nida Dar and Asmavia Iqbal were the only performers for Pakistan with the bat as their captain went out quickly while the others refused to stay at the crease and gave away the momentum to the hosts. For England, debutant, Sophie Ecclestone picked up two wickets and was the most effective bowler as others chipped in with wickets too. The last game is now a dead rubber but both the teams have lots to play as one would like to win another series, without losing a game while the other would like to win one game at least in their dismal tour.
Earlier, England women won the toss and batted first in the second Twenty20 International (T20I) against Pakistan women at Southampton.
