Sri Lanka women won the toss and elected to bat against India women in their ICC Women’s World Cup Group A match at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Sri Lanka have never defeated India in women’s cricket. Both the teams have won one game each so far in the tournament, with the hosts winning their opening match against West Indies and Sri Lanka winning their opening match against England.
India lost against England by 32 runs in their last match with a brilliant century by skipper Charlotte Edwards and four-wicket haul by Katherine Brunt.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, lost their second match they lost to West Indies by 209 runs on Sunday.
