Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, landed in a helicopter at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium for the Dharamsala Test against England on Thursday. On Tuesday, Rohit joined the squad that had come on Sunday. He also played cricket with his supporters and went to an event in Bilaspur with Sports Minister Anurag Thakur. India and England’s fifth Test match is meaningless because the Rohit-led team has already secured an unassailable 3-1 lead over the visitors with a spectacular victory in the fourth Test in Ranchi.
In Test cricket, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin of India and batsman Jonny Bairstow of England will play in their 100th match together for just the fourth time.
The first time this happened was in 2000 at Old Trafford when former England captain Michael Atherton and Alec Stewart achieved the milestone against the West Indies.

In 2006, during the South Africa-New Zealand game at Centurion, three players participated in the 100th Test match for South Africa: Jacques Kallis, Shaun Pollock, and Stephen Fleming.
The third was in the 2013 Ashes match between Australia and England in Perth, involving Michael Clarke and Alastair Cook.
Starting on Thursday, the fifth and final Test between Ashwin and Bairstow will include players from their respective clubs.
