Catch all the live news of the 2nd T20I match of the 3-match series between India and Sri Lanka, which is being held in Pallekele.

A walk in the park for India in terms of batting. A chase of 78 in 8 overs was easy for the batters. India has come out victorious with 7 wickets remaining and they have now taken a 2-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka.
Following Surya in going back to the dressing room, is Yashasvi Jaiswal. On a short ball, Jaiswal tries to make a pull, but fails to get the needed height. Shanaka hops from the deep mid-wicket and takes thecatch just in front of boundary rope. India at 72-3 in 6 overs.
Right after he showed his batting prowess, Surya got caught out by Shanaka. On s full delivery towards wide of off, Surya tries to lift it off but ends up dragging in towards long-on. Shanaka comes forward and catches the ball. India at 54-2 after 5 overs, need 24 runs in 18 balls.
The fourth over came as a gust of wind for Indian team as Surya hit 3 boundaries back-to-back, keeping team India’s spirits high. India at 45-1 after 4 overs, need 33 run in 24 balls.
Third over came like a blessing for the Indian team as Suryakumar and Jaiswal collected 16 runs with exclusive boundaries. India at 30-1 in 3 overs, need 48 runs in 30 balls.
The first ball of the second over marked the first wicket for team India as Sanju Smason got bowled out by Theekshana by a carrom ball. Samson goes out for a golden duck. India at 14-1 by the end of 2ns over, need 64 runs in 36 balls.
With the rain stopped and team India having a rvised target, Jaiswal and Samson come out to the pitch.
The umpires conducted an inspection a few minutes ago and have given their observations to both the teams. Conditions have been revised- India now has a target of 78 runs in 8 overs
We lost 45 minutes at the start of the game and now we have lost another 20. There might be now a deduction in overs when game resumes.
After the drizzle stopped, the covers had been removed, but it looks like they have to be put back on as the rain comes for a second wave.

Sri Lankan team saw yet another surprise as they face loss of another two wickets in the last over of the innings. 2nd and last ball marked the dismissal of Theekshana and Ramesh, respectively. Indian bowlers yet again manage to keep Sri Lankan batters in check as they keep going down one by one. Just now, during the 17th over, there were two wickets, now in the 4th ball of 18th over is another wicket down by Arshdeep singh. Sri Lanka at 153-7 in 19 overs.
The 4th and 5th ball of the 17th over mark the loss of two more wickets for Sri Lanka as they lose Shanaka and hasaranga on two consecutive deliveries by Ravi Bishnoi. Both got bowled out. Sri Lanka at 142-6 by the end of 17 overs.
During the 16th over, Hardik Pandya sent two batters back to the dressing room, both being caught out. One was on the first ball, where Kamindu Mendis was caught out by Rinku Singh. The other wicket was on the final ball, where Kusal Perera was caught out by Rinku Singh as well. Very Costly over for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka 139-4 in 16 overs.
On the 3rd ball of 14th over, Kusal plays his iconic pick up shot behind square leg on leg-side. Rinku runs to catch it, but slips and slides on the boundary rope. The shot counts ar a six which brings up a fabulous fifty for Kusal. Sri Lanka at 123-2 in 14 overs.
After 12 overs, Sri Lanka was sitting at 99-2. Then at the very next ball, Kamindu hits a four towards the inside-out over extra cover. Sri Lanka currently at 108-2 in 13 overs.
The end of 10 overs marks half the innings of Sri Lanka. this over also came with a wicket for the team as Bishnoi took out Nissanka with an lbw. A googly, which turned back in, went to the pads and deflects off the bat to the short third. Pant gave an appeal and Bishnoi enquired with the umpire, which led to finger being raised. Sri Lanka 80-2 in 10 overs.
With the end of 9 overs, Sri Lanka is now at 77-1 with Pathum and Kusal on the pitch. Slowly collecting runs, Sri Lanka closing in on a team total of 100 runs.
Sri Lanka currently is sitting snug at 63-1 in 7 overs. Powerplay has ended and the batters have only yet managed to grab just a handful of runs.
The end of 5th over marked a good point as the batters managed to grab 14 runs from this single over. Sri Lanka 45-1 in 5 overs.
Third ball of the 3rd over, a slower ball on short length. Mendis could not spot it and sent it into the leg-side but it went straight back over Arshdeep. Bishnoi comes to rescue and catches the ball. Sri Lanka 31-1 in 4 over.

The ground staff is currently working on cleaning the ground and drying the ground. The toss should not be far away.
