The pen-ultimate day of the fourth Test between India and England at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai was brimming with action but Bruce Oxenford‘s hilarious reaction after ruling Jonny Bairstow out has hogged the headlines. England were precariously placed 163 for the loss of four wickets when Ravichandran Ashwin was putting in the hard yards. The ball was gripping and Indian spinners already created a lot of doubts in the mins of batsmen as well as umpires out in the middle. Bairstow was lucky to have survived couple of inside edges and Ashwin was at the top of his game. In the 40th over, Ashwin bowled a flatter one, which turned massively and struck Bairstow’s pad. Cheteshwar Pujara did a good job in cupping it but the ball missed Bairstow’s bat by massive distance. Indian players went up and in a rush of blood, perhaps, Oxenford raised his finger and ruled Bairstow out.

Oxenford immediately reacted hilariously for giving the decision and the expression says it all. Bairstow didn’t spare a second in reviewing the decision and the replay showed saved the day for Bairstow. Oxenford was certainly embarrassed by his decision and attracted enormous eyeballs for this blunder. Luckily, England had a review in their basket, which saved both, Bairstow and Oxenford.
