India vs Pakistan Might Happen 3 Times in Upcoming Tournament – Not Champions Trophy

India is testingly set to Pakistan in ICC Trophy in Lahore on March 1, 2025. However, in the Asia Cup 2025, they have the chance to face each other as much as 3 times. This Asia Cup will be held in India, after more than 34 years.

After the T20 World Cup 2024, the next big tournament that is coming up is the ICC Champions Trophy which is scheduled to take place in February. For the first time since 1996 ODI World Cup, the nation will play as host to a major ICC event. In the schedule prepared by PCB, India is set to take on the host nation to renew their historic rivalry on 1st Match at Lahore. However, later that year in the Asia Cup 2025, there are reports that we might see an India vs Pakistan match not once, but thrice.

According to a report by PTI, India will be placed in the same group against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 held in India. If things go well, the two historic rivals will once again face each other in the Super 4 stage of tournament. If India and Pakistan finish on the top spots of Super 4 table of the Asia Cup 2025, they will qualify for the final. Hence, we will get to see a successful clash between the two arch rivals in the finals.

Hence, the Asia Cup 2025 might play host to India vs Pakistan match, not once but thrice. Earlier after an ACC meeting, reports came in that India would be hosting the Asia Cup 2025 for the first time in 34 years. This competition will be in the T20 format. After this, the 2027 edition will be played in the ODI format in Bangladesh.
