Former India cricketer turned commentator, a respectable figure in the cricketing fraternity, had an embarrassing experience in USA before the start of the second T20 International match between India and West Indies. Gavaskar was denied entry into the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill by security officials who failed to recognise him. He was one of the commentators, part of the broadcasting team. The safety, security standards in USA have been known to quite strict, as a number of times Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan has also been detained at airports. Despite being a global icon, Shahrukh was stopped at Los Angeles Airport a few weeks back. Gavaskar’s case therefore, doesn’t come as a surprise. Full Cricket Scorecard: India vs West Indies, 2nd T20I at Lauderhill
