Batting first, India had collapsed to 156, losing their last eight wickets in 43 balls after Jemimah Rodrigues (46 in 31 balls) and Harmanpreet Kaur (63 in 38) added 75 for the third wicket. Shashikala Siriwardene and Inoshi Priyadarshani picked up three wickets apiece. In response, Sri Lanka collapsed to 105 in the 18th over. Kaur opened bowling with Deepti Sharma, who picked up both openers — the dangerous pair of Yasoda Mendis and Chamari Atapattu — within ten balls. Siriwardene smashed three fours in her 18-ball 22 before getting bowled to Radha Yadav. Anushka Sanjeewani (29) and Oshadi Ranasinghe (22) added 39 for the fourth wicket but took 36 balls in the process, thus raising the asking rate beyond reach. The spinners — Sharma and the Yadavs (Radha and Poonam) shared seven wickets while three batters were run out. Taniya Bhatia finished with three stumpings — one each off Sharma, Radha, and Poonam. Brief scores: India Women 156 in 18.3 overs (Harmanpreet Kaur 63; Inoshi Priyadarshani 3 for 24, Shashikala Siriwardene 3 for 19) beat Sri Lanka Women 105 in 17.4 overs (Anushka Sanjeewani 29; Poonam Yadav 3 for 18) by 51 runs.
