The Indian cricket team is playing Afghanistan in a T20 International series, and they have been playing some very good cricket. If they win the third and final games of the series, they would have achieved something special in the sport’s shortest format. After winning the first two T20I matches in the series, the team captained by Rohit Sharma would achieve a historic rout if they win the third match in Bengaluru. India and Pakistan currently hold the record for the most consecutive whitewash bilateral series in T20I history (8). India will become the first side in history to reach nine wickets if they win the third Twenty20 International on Wednesday.

India will be keen to refine their newly-baked T20 blueprint as a team and hope that captain Rohit’s bat in the third and final match of the rubber on Wednesday, with the series already secured.

The management of the squad would like that there be no let-up in the energy shown during the triumphs in Mohali and Indore considering this is India’s last Twenty20 match before the World Cup in June.

India’s relentless approach from ball one, which saw them chase down 159 in 17.3 overs and 173 in 15.4 overs, respectively, was the hallmark of their identical six-wicket victories.

It was obviously different from their previous strategy of gathering steam for a thrilling finish in the Twenty20s. Nobody demonstrated this intention more clearly than Virat Kohli and Shivam Dube.

In his first T20I match for India in 14 months at Indore, Kohli hammered a strike rate of 181 off of 16 balls.

His modest but meaningful innings was most notable for the way he handled Afghan spinner Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, hitting him for 18 runs off seven balls at a strike rate of 257.

Although Kohli has never been the fastest when it comes to countering spin, he was unafraid to provide his insights to a revised strategy this time around.

After a three-year absence, Dube returned to the Indian blue when he was picked for the T20 series against Ireland at Malahide, Dublin, last year.

However, Dube was unable to secure a spot in the series against Australia and South Africa despite competing at the next Asian Games.

Still, despite his sporadic appearances, Dube continued down the route laid forth by the research tank.

Afghanistan, without the services of injured ace spinner Rashid Khan, could not manage his two brutal fifties.

With a speedy half-century in the most recent game, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal—who had missed the opening game in Mohali due to a groin ache—also demonstrated his readiness to internalize the rhythm.

India will be hoping for the trio to return here.

One little annoyance among these many benefits has been Rohit’s inability to fire. After a mix-up with Shubman Gill in the first match, he was run out, and in Indore, he was doomed by his misjudgment of pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi’s length.

It is unlikely that the administration will be concerned about his two runs scored in as many outings. However, they will undoubtedly prefer it if he ends the series with a significant innings.

Though India may not make any significant alterations to their batting lineup, the think tank may consider giving Avesh Khan and Kuldeep Yadav more playing time.

Both Ravi Bishnoi and Washington Sundar can be replaced by the left-arm wrist spinner, and Avesh can take the place of fellow pacer Mukesh Kumar.

Since the fourth T20I encounter against Australia in Raipur last year, wicketkeeper batter Jitesh Sharma has been participating in the format. If the thought leaders would like to give him a break, they can substitute Sanju Samson.

Afghanistan has shown flashes of brilliance throughout this series, but they haven’t been able to convert them into game-winning explosions.

After two lackluster performances, they would be hoping for a strong showing from opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz, whose shots higher up the order are very helpful when Afghans are chasing or establishing a target.

He has a great potential to be among runs because of the Chinnaswamy Stadium’s small boundaries and nice pitch.

Afghanistan will feel more confident after beating India, especially with a busy away schedule that includes matches against Sri Lanka and Ireland.
