India A are in trouble as they fell victim to Australian A fast bowlers, getting bundled out for 156 on Day 3. India A skipper Manish Pandey could not work his magic in third innings on Day Three as he got out for 11 as Daniel Worrall took his wicket to start off the batting collapse of the tourist side. Wickets fell in no time as India A batsmen suffered a batting collapse as they could only manage to add 112 runs on the board on Day Three. The batting collapse was also sponsored by Australia A’s fast bowlers— David Moody and Chadd Sayers who took 3 for 64 and 3 for 21 respectively giving their side an advantage in the final innings. Leg=spinner Mitchell Swepson chiped in with a wicket of Shardul Thakru towards the end.
Only Jayant Yadav could manage to impress on Day Three with his batting performance as he scored 46 from 75 balls trying to score runs at a slightly fast manner to give India A a lead just over 150. Yadav was the last batsman to get out as he batted till the end sharing partnerships with tailenders. Yadav was also influential with the ball in the first innings taking 3 wickets along with Varun Aaron. Karun Nair scored 21 before getting out as Sayers picked up his first wicket of the innings. Shreyas Iyer too departed soon for 26 after Pandey fell.
Naman Ojha departed for a duck whereas Hardik Pandya’s disappointing campaign continues as he got out for 7 runs. India A have a tough task ahead as they need to get Australia out under 158 runs with Day Three’s play left and a whole Day’s play to come after it. They need to pick up wickets quickly in order to win this game and start their ‘pink ball’ affair with a win.
Brief Scores:
India A 230 (Manish Pandey 77, Faiz Fazal 48; Mitchell Swepson 4 for 78, David Moody 3 for 26) and 156 (Jayant Yadav 46, Shreyas Iyer 26: Chadd Sayers 3 for 21, Daniel Worrall 3 for 43) lead Australia A 228 (Joe Burns 78, Peter Handscomb 87; Varun Aaron 3 for 41) by 158 runs.
