IPL 2017 auction: Delhi Daredevils spend big on renowned names
Delhi Daredevils have spent enormous amounts in IPL 2017 auction so far by buying lots of all-rounders.

Delhi Daredevils (DD) are on fire in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 auction. DD have added some big names in their line-up to bolster their chances of lifting their first IPL title in the 10th season. DD ended 6th in the points table in IPL 2016 and will be looking to go the distance after buying Kagiso Rabada, Angelo Mathews, Corey Anderson and Pat Cummins to their ranks. DD will be eyeing some other key players in the last session of the bidding, being held in Bengaluru. At present, they have INR 9.25 crores in their bank to go all-out in the auction. Apart from the big names, DD also bought in-form domestic player Ankit Bawne, Mumbai’s skipper Aditya Tare and Rising Pune Supergiants’ (RPS) leg-spinner Murugan Ashwin. Bawne was a red hot property after stitching a record 594-run unbeaten stand for Maharashtra with Swapnil Gugale in Ranji Trophy 2016-17 clash against Delhi. Bawne, Tare and Ashwin were bought for INR 10 lakhs, 25 lakhs and 1 crores respectively.
Rabada was bought for INR 5 crores, Anderson and Cummins got added for INR 1 and 4.5 crores respectively whereas Sri Lanka’s skipper, Mathews, was sold for INR 2 crores.
