Yashasvi Jaiswal practically has to be pulled out of the nets because he enjoys it so much, according to Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson. One of the most intriguing young batsmen in India, Jaiswal holds the record for the fastest fifty in the Indian Premier League (13 balls). He has already begun torturing bowlers, but the RR support crew has been the target of his batting fury the most.
In the IPL 2024, Samson, who will captain RR again, revealed that Jaiswal’s batting does so much damage to the net bowlers that it literally sent them to the hospital.
“That has to be Jaiswal,” Samson said when asked to name the player who spends the longest time in the nets. “Jaiswal has to be pulled out of nets for the last 3-4 years.
“We have four Sardar ji’s in our practice camp. They are called Cut, Pull, Flick, and Drive. The guy called ‘Cut’ only throws balls cut during practice, the guy called Pull only bowls pull to practice. So same for the other guys. All four of them dislocated their shoulders because of Jaiswal last season. And RR has to go ensure the treatment. They were in the hospital and made a comeback. I think instead of players, the staff gets injured because of Jaiswal.”

RR is counting on young Jaiswal to carry the trophy finish. The 22-year-old, who made his debut for India in August of last year, has already had a big impact on international cricket and enters the IPL fresh off an incredibly successful Test series win over England. After the great Sunil Gavaskar, Jaiswal became the second Indian batter to reach a milestone as generous as this, scoring more than 700 runs over the series. Jaiswal was aptly crowned the Player of the Series after scoring two double hundreds and three fifties.
