Karnataka are on the verge of overhauling Rest of India’s (ROI) total of 201 in the first innings of the Irani Trophy at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. They however, lost the key wicket of Ganesh Satish for 84.
Proceedings have been a bit slow after lunch. Satish, the man who attacked the ROI bowlers during the morning session had to be patient. Karun Nair had offered a chance early on as he hit a ball straight on Jiwanjot Singh’s shin early in the session. Jiwanjot failed to hold the opportunity and Harbhajan Singh sighed.
Dinesh Karthik was injured during the game as a ball kept low and hit him on the foot as he tried to collect it. As a result, Kedar Jadhav has moved into the keeping duties. The pair got their 50-run stand off 131 balls.
But Harbhajan looked threatening as he got the outside edge on a few occasions. Satish was dropped in the slips off Harbhajan’s bowling before he was dismissed. Replays showed that Satish had not edged the ball.
