It was an evenly contested match between Kerala Blasters FC and FC Atletico de Kolkata in the finals of the inaugural Indian Super League (ISL) finals. It had a lively start as Michael Chopra almost got to the end of an Iain Hume pass in the fifth minute. Luckily for Kolkata, Josemi was there to clear the ball. Chopra and Hume formed a deadly partnership that had the Kolkata defence in trouble, but their attack came to nothing more often than not. Isfaq Ahmed almost grabbed a goal in the 12th minute for Kerala but it was kept out by Edel.

Stephen Pearson and Chopra have combined well and have been a nuisance. They’ve kept the Kolkata defence and their goal-keeper busy.
Kolkata had their best chance when Nirmal Chettri conceded a free-kick at the edge of the box only for Podany to blast it over the keeper and the goal. In the business end of the half Ofentse Nato
of Kolkata was booked for a challange on a Kerala player, which was quickly followed by a yellow for Josemi.

Not a very exciting half, with very less goal-scoring opportunity but it sets it up perfectly fot the second half.
