England’s Joe Root who will miss the upcoming ICC World T20 to be held in Bangladesh has posted a picture of his broken thumb on a social networking site which has been his bone of contention recently.

Root who injured his thumb during England’s third One-Day International (ODI) win over the West Indies at Antigua has posted an X-rayed picture of his thumb which will probably take weeks or even months to heal.

Root has been replaced by specialist batsman Ian Bell for the T20 tournament in Bangladesh and his absence in the squad has probably made a difference to England’s fortunes as they lost the T20 series against the West Indies and now will have to make do without his services for the World Cup.

Root after suffering the injury had flown back to England for a scan and the picture posted only highlights the fact that the issue is a serious one.
