Pallekele: Aug 10, 2011

Mitchell Johnson registered career best figures of six for 31 as Australia bowled out Sri Lanka for 191 from 42 overs in their first One-Day International at Pallekele.

Openers Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga provided Sri Lanka with a blistering start garnering 54 runs in nine overs, after the hosts won the toss and chose to bat. Xavier Doherty provided Australia the first breakthrough when he dismissed Tharanga for 34.

David Hussey then got the priced wicket of Dilshan at the score of 74, and Sri Lanka lost Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara to Johnson in quick succession, which left Sri Lanka reeling at 89 for four.

A 60-run stand for the eighth wicket between Suraj Randiv (38) and Nuwan Kulasekara (20) pushed Sri Lanka to a respectable 191.

Brief Scores: Sri Lanka 191 all out in 41.1 overs (Suraj Randiv 41, Nuwan Kulasekara 34, Upul Tharanga 34; Mitchell Johnson 6 for 31) vs Australia.
