Jonathan Trott to make comeback in County cricket

Trott hasn't played for England since they lost to Australia at Brisbane.

England batsman Jonathan Trott who withdrew from the Ashes 2013-14 series due to stress-related illness is set to make a comeback into professional cricket by playing for his County, Warwickshire. He will join with the squad after they return from their pre-season tour of Barbados. He is expected to play against Gloucestershire at Edgbaston. The game starts on April 1.

 

In the Test match Trott played at the Gabba, Brisbane against Australia, he twice lost his wicket to fast bowler Mitchell Johnson in a crushing 381-run loss. He hasn’t played for England since then.

 

“He’s still very hungry. He wants to continue succeeding both for Warwickshire and for England.” Dennis Amiss was quoted as saying by BBC.

 

Trott, has amassed 3,763 runs, including nine hundreds, in 49 Tests for England at an average of 46.95
