Kevin Pietersen took to Twitter to express his desire of playing for England and showed his commitment to regain the Ashes in 2015. There were media reports suggesting England team director Andy Flower had sent out a ‘he goes or I go’ ultimatum over Pietersen going into the future.
England lost the 2013-14 Ashes series 5-0 and there have been speculations regarding the future of Flower and Pietersen.
The England batsman said he was shocked and saddened by these reports in the media.
1/2 – I am shocked and saddened by reports in the media today concerning my future with England…
— Kevin Pietersen (@KP24) January 8, 2014
2/2 – I wish to repeat my strong desire to continue playing for my country, and to help us regain the Ashes in 2015.

Pietersen and Flower have not had the best of relationships together with the England setup and the whitewash suffered at the hands of Australia did not help the situation.
