Kings XI Punjab coach Darren Lehmann on Monday said his batsmen need to bat out the full twenty overs and put more runs on the board to give the bowlers a chance to defend the total.
“Our bowling and fielding has been really good. But what has obviously let us down is the batting. We need to bat out the full overs and score a bit more runs to give our bowlers a chance,” Lehmann told reporters.
After two successive defeats against Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, Kings XI Punjab are now looking at bolstering their batting line-up ahead of their clash against Kolkata Knight Riders at the PCA stadium.
“We will add some firepower in our batting line-up. Luke Pomersbach or David Miller would get a chance in the game against KKR,” he said.
Lehmann sounded optimistic about turning around his team’s fortunes under home conditions.

“We have not been able to execute our game plan properly but we hope to win at home and give our fans something to cheer about. Everyone is training very hard, so I can’t really blame anyone. We are keeping faith in the youngsters and hopefully they will deliver this time,” said Lehmann.
