Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of the ninth place play-off quarter-final match between New Zealand and Scotland in the ICC Under-19 World Cup at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium Academy Ground, Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday. New Zealand were rocked intheir very first game of the tournament when a determined Nepal team eased past them by 32 runs. They pulled up their socks and managed to register a four-wicket win over Ireland in their next match, but ended their group stage fixture with a crushing 120-run loss against India. Scotland have failed to register a single win in the tournament so far and hence find themselves in this situation at the moment. Live Cricket Score Scotland U-19: 154/7 | Overs 45 | Batting: Haris Aslam 13(5), Harris Carnegie 0(0) | Haris has been joined by Harris. Live Cricket Score, Scotland U19 50/2 in overs 15, Batting: Owais Shah 6(15), Rory Johnston 1(9): Two wickets down now Scotland and they are in trouble. 50 runs up on the board and boundaries coming but they need to protect their wickets as well. Flack looked settled and boundaries were coming from his bat but after his departure it’s Owais Shah now who has taken on the responsibility to keep the scorecard going. OUT! Neil Flack c Stanley b Finnie 22 (41), Azeem Dar c Scott(wk) b ter Braak 13 (26)

New Zealand will start the match as clear favourites. They will hope that they can get a consolation win and bow out with some pride. Scotland also cannot be taken lightly as they have the tendency to produce a few upsets. They lost all the three games in the group stage by a huge margin and a win against New Zealand will be an upset, but a huge morale booster for the Scottish side.

Both teams are no longer in contention to win the tournament but have a lot at stake going as the look to end the tournament with a win under their belts.
