Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of Day Four of the second Test between Pakistan and West Indies at Bridgetown, Barbados. I am Rohan Sawant and I will be bringing you the live updates of the day’s play. Pakistan resumed Day Three trailing by 140 runs and earned a vital 93-run lead. Azhar Ali notched up his 12th hundred whereas Misbah-ul-Haq once again remained unlucky at 99. He was not out for that score in the previous Test as he ran out of partners, but this time got dismissed by Jason Holder. West Indies lost one wicket going into stumps and will have to bat well as they are still trailing by 41 runs. Kraigg Brathwaite will hold fort in the penultimate day against Pakistani pacers. Day Three started slowly with Azhar-Misbah taking time to settle in. Azhar got to his hundred and departed soon, but Misbah held the innings for long. He was involved in a 57-run stand with Asad Shafiq but the lower order could not carry on for long. Misbah, falling for 99, became the first batsman to score consecutive 99s in the longer format and register three 99s in career.
West Indies will be cautious and not crumble the visitors’ pace attack, like they did in the second innings of the series opener and show resistance. On the other hand, victory will give an unassailable lead to the visitors in the three-match series. However, they will have to bowl well as hosts trail by less than 100 runs with 9 wickets in hand. A big partnership may frustrate them on the field on Wednesday.
