Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Warriors by 22 runs through the Duckworth-Lewis method in their Champions League T20 group B match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Kolkata scored 83 for one from nine overs chasing 156, which was 22 runs ahead of the D/L method target of 61.
Jacques Kallis remained unbeaten on 31 off 19 balls and skipper Gautam Gambhir on 33 off 23 adding 43 runs for the second wicket to keep KKR ahead.
Colin Ingram’s knock of 61 off 47 balls helped Warriors set a 156–run target against the Kolkata Knight Riders in their Champions League T20 group B match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Ingram’s innings of 61 included three boundaries and as many sixes.
Ingram and JJ Smuts added 80 runs for the second wicket to set a good platform for the Warriors to set a competitive target.
JJ Smuts missed on a half-century when he was dismissed for 46 off 43 balls, studded with six boundaries.
Mark Boucher slammed five boundaries in his unbeaten knock of 38 off 27 balls.
Earlier, Kolkata skipper Gautam Gambhir won the toss and chose to field after a wet outfield delayed the start of play.
