Highlight India vs New Zealand 2nd T20I Score And Match Updates: Team India put on an astonishing all-round performance to beat New Zealand by 65 runs in the second T20I and gain the lead of 1-0 in the three-match T20I series.
Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to bowl first. Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan came to open the innings for Team India. They were giving team a good start but Pant lost his wicket to Lockie Ferguson on the first ball of the final powerplay over.
Suryakumar Yadav came in at number 3 but didn’t get to bat for too long as rain came back and stopped the play. India were batting at 50/1 by the 6.4 over before the rain. India lost Ishan Kishan early after rain to Ish Sodhi but Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer didn’t allow Kiwi bowlers to build pressure on them.
Shreyas Iyer was looking good but lost his wicket in form of hit-wicket. Then Surya joined a good partnership Hardik Pandya and accelerated the innings. He completed his second century in T20 Internationals. His knock helped Team India put 191 runs on the board.
However, it was not the final highlight of the innings. Tim Southee grabbed his second T20I Hat-trick in the final over and managed to keep Suryakumar on the non-striker throughout the final over. He dismissed Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda and Washington Sundar to get the hat-trick.
New Zealand didn’t get the perfect start for a chase this big as they lost Finn Allen on the very second ball. Kane Williamson and Devon Conway joined a fifty runs partnership but after that the Kiwis kept on losing wickets on regular intervals.

They failed to build partnership and kept falling behind. Kane Williamson was the sole batter to score runs for the Kiwis but his sole efforts were not enough. Deepak Hooda performed the best with ball as he grabbed a total of 4 wickets and three of them came in the final over. He took four wickets for just 10 runs in his 2.5 overs spell.
