The first match at the Wellington was abandoned without a ball being bowled. India won the second T20I by 65 runs and the third match. Tim Southee won the toss and elected to bat first. The lost the wicket of  Finn Allen in the second over itself to Arshdeep Singh. Mark Chapman came in and played some good knock but his knock was ended by Mohammed Siraj.

Devon Conway and Glenn Phillips smashed two crucial half centuries and helped their side reach a fighting total. Although Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh turned the table again on Kiwis and bowled them out on 160. Both Siraj and Arshdeep grabbed 4 wickets each.

Team India came out to bat and lost four wickets by the 7th over including the big one of Suryakumar Yadav. Hardik Pandya fired some blazing shots but the match was eventually interrupted rain and umpires decided to stop the play
